2016 Birthing Kits Project
Date: 10th August 2016 & 13th August 2016
Location: Valmai Pidgeon Performing Arts Complex, Somerville House, South Brisbane
Every 2 minutes, a woman dies of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, but a birthing kit could make all the difference.
A birthing kit holds supplies to meet the seven basic requirements for a clean birth and potentially saves the life of a mother and baby in a rural or remote community. This year we will be assembling 10,000 kits which will be distributed to expectant mothers in Papua New Guinea and across Africa.
With the generous assistance of Zonta's sponsors, the birthing kit supplies have been procured but the kits won't assemble themselves! We need volunteers to assist us to prepare and assemble 10,000 kits in August!
