Towards International Medical Equality (TIME) is a not-for profit organisation for UQ students with an interest in global health.
TIME was established in 2005 by UQ medical students who saw an opportunity to incorporate global health outreach into their elective experience. Now in our 13th year and with over 1, 000 members we are a student run organisation committed to the promo*on and establishment of equitable health care at home and abroad.
To achieve this, we are a formally registered charitable organisation and are registered with the UQ Union. We also have strong partnerships with a number of professional organisations both within Australia and abroad. Throughout the year, we are focused on five of our project streams: Medical Aid, Refugee Health, Rural and Indigenous Health, Maternal Health and Environmental Health.
We are active in both global health advocacy and work in close conjunction with Queensland Global Health Groups from Griffith, Bond and James Cook University as well as AMSA Global Health. We also ensure that global health education is incorporated into the medical curriculum and work alongside UQ Medical Society to provide feedback to the Faculty of Medicine at UQ.
